152. Why do you think Elie Wiesel wrote this book?

I think that Eli Wiesel wrote this book to tell the world his story about how horrible was life in the concentration camps and because he want the world to know that this was true and that it did happen to him and to many Innocent people that were killed in this camps. I also think he wrote this book to express his feelings and to tell people that this don't have to happen again.



153.Why do you think he chose Night as its title?

I think that Elie Wiesel chose Night as its title because that the way he feel that all this experience was like a nightmares and because the night means darkness and unexpected things could happen in the night and in the concentration camps. I also think that this experience make him a sad person that after all he has experience he don't see life like a wonderful place no more instead he see it like the Night.

154.How does Elie change as a result of his experiences in the concentration camps?

Elie change a lot a and in many ways as a result of his experiences in the concentration camps because after all he pass through change him and make him a mad person, they killed his soul and feelings. After all he had see his mom, sister,dad and many other persons that he saw died.



155.How does Elie finally come to terms with his ordeal?(What does he finally do)

He finally come to terms with his ordeal because he wrote this book that make him express his feelings and let go some of his pain by writing this book. I think that this is a good way to express your feelings, when you don't now what to do and how to act after all he has seem and experience in the concentration camps were all his family was killed. This is every painful because your family are the only persons in the world that will always be with you and they will always protect you.

156.Give examples of issues in Night that still arise today and what do you think should be done about genocide?
In the book NIGHT Elie and his family and many other type of person were genocide because of their sexuality, religion, believes, race and many more. Today genocide it still exist and many people are being killed too. For example in Cuba Castro is the president of Cuba and he knows about genocide and that this is happening in his country and he don't even care. This persons are being killed, they have serious bodily and mental harm, they are also don't let women to give birth and if they are they force them to abort. They use eight stages of genocide, the first one is classification, symbolization, dehumanization, organization, polarization, preparation, extermination and finally Denial.

Other example of Genocide is happening is in South Africa were Black African are killing White African because of racism. This also happen in the book Night were the Germans were putting Germans in the concentration camps because they didn't think like them or because they didn't like Hitler as their leader.

In Vietnam the U.S.A troops are being killed and the people that help them also get killed because they think their there enemies and they killed them with poison gas and many other things. This also happen in the book Night were the prisoners were killed with poison gas and many more horrible ways.

In Colombia people are scared of what is happening an some decide to abandon their home, land and work because they are scared to get killed by the rebels. The president of Colombia Alvaro Uribe accused Hugo Chavez the president of Venezuela to help the guerrillas. In the book Night Hitler was the main leaders of the Nazi and its collaborators and they all plan to killed the Jews and other people.

In Morocco, Spain Sahrawi people are being torture, kidnapping , and disappear. Morocco is accused of genocide because many of the Saharawis are reported missing. This is also related to the book Night because many of the people that were put in the concentration camps were not even given the opportunity to see if they were good or bad people.

The Diary of Anne Frank, Act I and II

1.The families must obey strict rules to avoid discovery. Which rule would be the hardest for you to follow?Why?
The families that were hiding had very strict rules to avoid discovery, the rule that will be the hardest to follow will be to stay quiet in the morning to all the afternoon this is the rule that will be really hard for me to follow because there are so much things you have to do at this time and for example you need to eat or use the bathroom.

One of the objects that Mr. Frank find in the secret room was the diary of his daughter Anne Frank.(B)How are these objects connected with the rest of the act? This objects are connected to the story because with out the diary there will be no story of their live in hiding.

The word Hanukkah is a celebration that lasts eight days, for the families is a time to be all together and thank god for still be alive.(B) What do Anne's presents show about her? Anne's presents shows that she is a very happy girl, she likes to play, talk , and do everything a girl of her age will do.(C) Why do the others react with enthusiasm to their presents? The other people react to enthusiasm to their presents that Anne gave them because they didn't expect to get nothing because of everything that was going on.


4.With a partner, discuss Mr. Frank statement, "There are....no locks that anyone can put on your mind."How does this Anne prove that this is true? Anne Frank prove that this statement is true because she never change her mind that all people were good persons even after all she pass through.


5. (A)What is the historical cause that forces the Frank to go into hiding? The historical cause that force the Frank family to go into hiding was that all the Jews or have some part of Jews blood were put in camps were they were put to work and get killed.
(B)What effects does this situation have on their daily lives? The effects of all this was that they were not able to make noise or talk for an amount of time and this affect them because this had to be very hard to do.

I think that they wanted to make the Jews feel discriminate and feel like the bad people that have to be killed or put to work without get paid.(B)What background information about the war and the Nazis' treatment of the Jews helps you to link this cause with its intended effects? It help me to understand all the person or families like the Frank and Van Daan went in to hiding and why.

8.When the Franks and Van Daans accept Jan Dussel to join them in hiding, it tells that they are good persons but they will still have little problems but they will all be able to solve them because they are the only persons they could trust and they all live together.

1.What do you like best about Anne Frank? How would like having hers a friend? What i like the best about Anne Frank is that she was always in a good mood, she was always happy and making his family happy too. I will like to have her as a friend because she will always make be happy and smile.

I know that Anne has changed because of everything that has happen to her and because she can't do normal things that a girl of her age will do because she and her family have to hid.

Solving a problem on the streets

One serious problem that is going on the streets will be that many teenager are been killed and this is a very serious and important issue because now many teenager are scare to go out of their home because they are afraid to be kill. There are many things we can do to stay safe and not be afraid to get kill. This are some of my solutions to this problem.


My fist solution will be that teenager should stay at home as much as they can in the night because almost all the deaths are cause at night, but if you have something planning to do at night they should go with some one that could take care of you and protect you. The best thing to do is to stay at home and do something fun. If you don’t want to be inside at home then go outside in front of your home and do something fun but with your friends or family(cousins) and don’t be alone at night. You could also be in your neighborhood were there the people know you and if its save for you.


My second solution will be to be very careful with what you wear and with the persons you talk to because this is another reason why teenagers get kill even that they have not done nothing bad. But they still get killed because the gangs think they are their enemies and they kill them. This is very bad but it has happen but this are some of the things we can do to not get kill, don’t talk to people that you know have problems with gangs, try not to wear any gang color and don’t try to act like then and think before doing something that will be bad for you.

My third solution will be to be very careful every time your out side alone our with your friends, if you know someone who is in gangs try to stay away from that person. If the neighborhood were you live is very dangerous talk to the police and tell to be checking your neighborhood in case of some thing bad could happen or if you want move to another place were there is less danger.

In my conclusion this are some of my solutions that I think you should do to stay safe and for not to be kill on the streets. But our parents have to also take care of us and pay us more attention of the things that we do and help us to not make bad decisions. We also have to think before we make wrong decisions that could change our life’s or end it.

"Hansel and Gretel"

My name is Gretel and i have one brother named Hansel, we life with my father and our step-mother. We are very poor people, sometimes we don't even eat nothing the entire day. One day when i was with my brother we hear our step mother telling our father that he has to let us in the forest so they will be able to survive and not die for hunger. My dad agree and in the next morning they wake ups early and took us in to the forest. They gave us a piece of bread my brother pick up some pebbles and he trough one by one pebbles so in this way we could find our way home. When we were in the middle of the forest our step mother told us that she was going to cut some wood but she never came back. I was very scared and the only thing i could think about it was going home. My brother told me that everything was going to be okay. In the morning we follow the pebbles and we find our way home. But our parents did the same thing the next morning the left us in the middle of the forest but this time we did know how to go back. We were lost, we were walking for hours but we could not figure out our way back to home. But then we saw this amazing house all built by bread and cover with cake and the windows were of clean sugar. we both run to the house my brother went up to the roof and i was eating the window. Suddenly an old women open the door and told us to come in and we did. She gave us food to eat milk, pancakes, sugar, apples, and nuts. We feel like if we were in heaven. The old women only pretended to be kind but was she really had in mind was to feed us very well and then she will kill us, cook us and then eat us. She had always done this to other children's. The next morning she took my brother to a little stable and locked him. She told me to cook something to him and bring it to him until he gets fat so she could eat him. I was force to do what she told me. Four weeks has pass and Hansel is till thin, she was not going to wait any longer the old women was going to kill my brother and cook him. Early in the morning the i had to hang up the cauldron with the water and light the fire. The old lady had ready heated the oven, the witch try to put me inside of the oven but i push her into the oven and run. I went to save my brother we dance and kiss each other of happiness. And then end we went back to home our step mother is death and our father was sorry for what he did. We hug him and live happy for ever.

A newspaper story by: O.Henry
This story is about a man who saw a newspaper that was looking for three editorials that they will put in a column and public it. One was directed for parents and teachers. Another was to Warning addressed to a notorious labour leader who was on the point of instigating his clients to a troublesome strike. Later in this story people read the stories and a girl named Gladys write to the newspaper so they could gave her information about going on a date. I didn't like the story a lot because it was kind of confusing and there were some things that i didn't get.

The Princess and the Puma by: O.Henry
This story is about a king and Queen, the king was a very terrible old man who was married to a Mexican girl from Laredo. His husband has own a 50,000 acres of land and people called him ''the cattle king'' Later in this story the king had a pet that was a puma and like he lives in the ranch with his wife one day the queen was about the killed his pet by accident but she didn't because the King save his pet. I think i like the story because it kind of interesting how the king save his pet and how he care of him.

The Gift of the Magi by: O. Henry
I like this story because it is very sweet and it shows what true love is really about it tells me that when you love someone you will do anything to see that person happy and you will never make that person feel bad. I also like this story because it said that the real will always give their most value thing on earth just to make you happy and to show you how much that person loves you. I LOVE THIS STORY=]

"Fable"

A baby rabbit was lost in the middle of the forest and he was crying because he was so scared and lonely. He decide to look for their parents and for help, but he get tired and he decided to sit in the grass. Later a lion saw him setting in the grass, he was very hungry that he decided to go there and eat him. When he got there he say "Hi, little rabbit why your so lonely", the rabbit say with a sadly voice "I'm lost", The lion told him "don't worry little rabbit I'll help you find your parents". They both left to look for the rabbit parents and then the lion stop the little rabbit to eat him but he fall inside of a hole and the little rabbit run away.
